Dispositifs numériques contrôlés par la gestuelle, et saxophone ténor, s’entrecroisent, se perturbent et s’enrichissent.
La création musicale, façonne un contenu visuel, au travers de téléviseurs détournés.
Cette passerelle analogique, tente de créer une perméabilité des sens, en décloisonnant ondes sonores et vibrations visuelles.
La performance met en avant le détournement technologique et l’improvisation sonore.

No Logo is a gathering that aims at developing the artistic scene of Tunisia.
I was invited to design an interactive art installation, and build it with students during a serie of three workshops.
Students had to deal with sound design, generative visual art, electronic hacking, sawing & drilling.
Each workshop took place in a different city and led to a light&sound totem.
The three totems then merged into an interactive water basin : A’quantic.

We used sanded PVC, one-way mirror film, LED strips and several microcontrollers.
Three hacked Korg Monotrons broadcasted soundscapes through immersed woofers.
Sound frequencies created patterns on the surface of the water, distorting light reflections.
The water bassin is reactive to touch, using the capacitive effect of the human body.
Touching the water would trigger the installation and generate visuals and sounds related to people interactions.

This installation travelled Tunisia for two weeks during the No Logo Tour.
The festival was hosted inside an inflatable bubble made by the collectif La Bulle.
This ephemeral structure, was built with tunisian students, only using pvc rolls and double-sided tape.
We invested the public spaces of Kairouan, El Kef, and Bizerte, offering art and workshops to passerbys.

For the latest Robert Lepage’s theatre play,
I was commissioned by le Théâtre du Soleil to fake a painting with digital technology.
I used high-res pictures of the steps of a portrait as a material for live render.
Disguised as a canvas, a high-definition screen with Pqlabs infrared tracking technology.

We had a projection for background scenery, using two edge-blended videoprojectors.
I ended up operating the show from Millumin, during rehearsals and part-time for the exploitation.
The play used several video flux, broadcasted on multiple mediums. Two cameras also appeared on stage and needed live render. I dealed with hard technical constraints, building solutions with mostly good’old analog technologies.

I used Art-Net to remote control VP shutters and fade time directly from Millumin.

Kanata was part of Le Festival d’Automne à Paris,
And was presented from 15/12/2018 to 31/03/2019 at La Cartoucherie de Vincennes.
On tour this summer, I operated the show in Napoli,
and coordinated the video installation at
Athens & Epidaurus Festival.

Delta Mintaka est une ceinture ondulatoire intranquille, foyer d’une activité magnétique forte.
Taj ninny sivvec propose ici au visiteur de se perdre dans une boucle d’Orion perturbée.
Cette zone à forte radiation électromagnétique est composée d’anciens téléviseurs, agencés en astres autour d’une console centrale.
La console, foyer ondulatoire, permet de prendre le contrôle des perturbations.
De prime abord muette, la dimension sonore de l’installation se révèle au visiteur par un dispositif dévoilant les ondes magnétiques à travers un casque audio.
Le promeneur est invité à évoluer autour des astres, et à sonder les perturbations dont ils sont le foyer.

Langue de bois.
Technocratie.
Une machine à tickets de caisse débite des lettres de refus de subventions culturelles.
Le greffier de la société de consommation devient apprenti poète.
Bardé de caractères, le papier thermique s’amoncelle dans un grand tube transparent.
Générés aléatoirement, les 10 millions de discours possibles s’entassent au fil des jours.
Uniques par leur lexicalité, uniformes dans leur sens.
Un abécédaire bruitiste met en lumière cette absurdité.
Chaque lettre générée enclenche un dispositif électromécanique.
Le langage bureaucratique et technocrate s’improvise chef d’orchestre, et commande le balais électromécanique.
Les kilomètres de communiqués desservant de la culture, se retrouvent finalement au coeur du processus de création.
La langue de bois se fait poésie institutionnelle.

Version évoluée du chien chaud modifié,
elle possède une sortie jack pour la scène.
Créature de l’ombre,
elle transforme la lumière en cris stridents.
Entre ses lèvres,
une photorésistance,
qu’elle arbore comme une cigarette consumée.

Suzie is another punk machine,
she’s the evolution of the rubber dog toy.
Great to use on stage with her jack output.
She likes darkness,
and makes harsh screams out of light.
Holding a photoresistor between her lips,
like a consumed cigarette.
